I was invited to come along with some friends to visit the Porsche Factory in Zuffenhausen, Germany. We went there with 3 Porsche 911’s. All in all a very nice trip but the relevant thing for innberg was to see the whole production process. It was very good for two reasons. One, car manufacturers are a good example of process innovators as they can save tremendously on improving the production process. It was very nice to hear some of the small changes they made to the production process over the years. Everything is pieced together to create a well oiled machine.

Secondly it was so.. nice to see the program at work that Porsche has for new owners. You are flown in to Stuttgart to visit the factory where you almost imagine how your Porsche was built days ago. You are then invited to lunch with Porsche and pick up the new Porsche later on to drive it home yourself. I saw quite some people with a lot of twinkle in their eyes during the whole day. It makes you bond with your car so much more, improving loyalty to the brand and a better understanding of the value. I hope to experience it one day and I will tell you all about it.
